Greetings!
My name is Devin Young and I am a fourth year graduating senior majoring in Editing, Writing, and Media with minor in Education. I aspire one day to become a principal of a Title 1 public school. I have a passion advocating for students of color and being a positive representation each and every one of them inside and outside of the classroom. I also aspire to one day get the opportunity to teach abroad hopefully China or Japan.
Majority of my prior experience with using technology in the classroom has to be the use of SmartBoards and laptops. I have also used iclickers while in college to answer questions and get attendance points. The use of social media, Twitter, has been used in a couple of my English classes to get the class more involved with participating and communicating with each other. Kahoot is another website/technology that I have used in previous courses to help with review either for tests, midterms, and finals.
First and foremost, I hope to learn different creative ways to use technology in the classroom. I hope to gain more knowledge and experience with Microsoft office. I hope this course will provide different sites like Kahoot so that I can have alternatives when it comes to review in y classroom. I hope that the knowledge gained over the course of the semester is beneficial to my life and career.
